After the excitement of yesterday I’ve come back down to more steady ground. Kind of. It’s a bit of a mess trying to get this all finalised. I guess it’s not just like we are buying a pair of shoes. It’s a little but bigger than that.
I thought I would share my everyday makeup routine with you all because I love seeing everyone else do their stuff. As I’m still very novice to all of this, I don’t actually have any brushes or fancy tools. I have my fingers and toilet paper to clean up any of the messes. I am going to do a but of research into brushes and see what I can afford 🙂
Every morning I shower, use my Olay cleanser that I mentioned in an . I tone with my Nateo Young toner and moisturise with My tinted SPF15 Dove moisturiser. I don’t use concealer or foundation unless I am going somewhere a bit special – the tint in the moisturiser evens out my skin tone enough and helps dull my redness. Once all that slightly boring stuff is done I get onto the makeup.
I find that greens and browns and colours on the darker side of the spectrum work best with my skin tone. I found this little cheeky pallet for $3 from a cheapy shop when I was in desperate need of something a bit new. I’m not super picky when it comes to brand, as long as it does what it is supposed to, that is my main priority.

So I generally start off with number 1 on this pallet which is an army green sort of colour in the outer corner of my lid. I usually use my index finger to work it into the crease.
Then I get number 2 and work it in the middle third of my lid. I blend it in with the outer corner.
Once it move onto number three a wipe it across my eye from the inner corner to just before the end of the outer corner.
Last, I use number 4 right in the inner part of my eye so it gets a little bit of gold on the top and under my eye. I use my pinky finger for this one.
After I do my eyeshadow I go onto the liquid eyeliner. The skill in which I recently mastered! Yay! If I can get it super thin on my upper lash line, that is how it stays. If I happen to flinch and my brush moves a little then my line is a bit thicker. Today it was a little thicker, I had a super crazy urge to sneeze.

Once I’m happy with my liquid eyeliner I move onto pencil liner. Once upon a time I would just use black eyeshadow on my lower water line but I moved on from that stage of my life. Also, it’s kind of hard to do the upper water line with powder. I am also at a stage where I like to only line a third of my lower water line. So that is my next step…

I line the lower water line about a third of the way across and also just under the water line. Once I do that I smudge the liner a little bit with my ring finger. I line the upper water line the whole way across.
So the process is nearly over. I already have quite long eye lashes but I like to define them a little. I don’t curl or anything, I just whack a little bit of mascara on. One thing I do with mascara is that I start right from the base of my lash, it fills in any of the gaps my liner missed.
Once this is all done I add a little bit of 5 from the eyeshadow pallet underneath my eyebrow, down the middle of my nose and the little bit in the middle of my upper lip. I don’t do this every day though, maybe once or twice a week.
My finishing touch is my new favorite gloss, Apocalips in Celestial. It is such a pretty colour.
So that is it! It takes me around 5 minutes to do this in the morning before work or uni. I find that by applying my moisturiser all over my face and finishing on my eyes, it works almost like a base. It doesn’t crease or fade that much 🙂
Okay, so that is it for today.
Love Matilde xx
I totally forgot to add the final look on me. Oops! Lucky I don’t have a million followers who would notice 🙂
